Lady Bee x Rocky Wellstack - Box Dem EP

Having served up a fine, melodic house addition to Mixmash Records last month, Lady Bee crosses the border to sister label Ones To Watch Records for her latest collaboration alongside Rocky Wellstack. Their 2-track ‘Box Dem’ EP is forthcoming on 15th August 2016.
No stranger to the Mixmash pack, Lady Bee’s DJ efforts began in 2002, following 10 monumental years as an MC. Her ability to fuse a variety of different genres allows her music to speak unfathomable truths – placing her in a well-respected league of her own.
Collaborator Rocky Wellstack brings a wealth of talent to the EP. Having remixed for the likes of Major Lazer, his production capabilities tap into a warped, electronic side to reggae/dancehall – bringing the Dutch powerhouse to the forefront of the genre.
Leading with the impending sound of sirens, title track ‘Box Dem’ quickly fires up through rounds of contagious vocal hooks, hard hitting percussion & fierce brass elements, before breaking down into a pulsating baseline and a mash-up of scattered electronic components.
Rounding of the EP is second instalment ‘Droppin’ All These Dollaz’. Packed with a bounce-filled baseline, the track takes you on a progressive journey through flickering hi-hats and a series of jittering vocals – paving way to an experimental soundscape laced with an electro-punch.
Teaming up with fellow Dutch dynamite Rocky Wellstack for the 2-track EP, Lady Bee shares her knowledge of MC driven verses alongside Rocky’s dancehall infused electo-beats – serving up an EP that boasts two ground-breaking records sure to delve deeper into a multitude of genres.
